It can feel like decluttering your home will take forever.
The truth is there is no one size fits all timeline for how long it will take to declutter your home. There are just too many variables to know how long decluttering takes.
However, I will tell you that you have way more stuff than your realize. This is why it feels like it takes so long
It’s easy to be frustrated that you spent a weekend decluttering, and it all comes undone by the next week. However, consider how long you have been accumulating stuff. Much longer than one weekend.
Target runs. Amazon prime delivery. Thrift store treasures.
All reasons we have so much stuff.
Decluttering your home will take time. That’s okay, and normal.
Everything good that you have has likely come from time and energy. Sometimes we get a random lucky gift, but generally speaking we get what we give.
So, give decluttering your home a good, honest effort.
If you decluttered for just 15 minutes a day for one year you would have 91 hours of decluttering done
I have helped a lot of moms declutter their homes in just 4 weeks. You don’t need 91 hours. You just need a plan, accountability, and to have some fun while you make this happen. If that sounds like what you want, get into Decluttering Simplified!
It won’t take you one weekend most likely, but it also won’t take as long as you think.
And if you do declutter your home in a weekend, don’t get discouraged if a few weeks later it feels like you haven’t done anything.
There is a very normal cycle of decluttering that happens. You clear the surfaces and the easiest things first, and then the clutter that was hiding out in the corners, closets and other spaces of your home starts to creep into these newly clear areas.
It’s called the clutter creep! And if you’ve experienced this it means you’re on the right path.
If you haven’t experienced this yet – get ready for it. We all do.
If you want a plan to help you get your decluttering done in just 4 weeks make sure to get into Decluttering Simplified.
Sometimes the reason decluttering takes so long is because you spend most of your time trying to figure out the steps to take. I can give you the steps so all you have to do is ditch your excess, then take a nap! Or just clean up the tiny messes that toddlers make all day. Either one.
